TECHNIQUES
Esalen is a relaxation technique
consisting of long strokes that engage and warm an entire muscle
or area of the body. This encourages the muscle to elongate,
expand and open, leading to greater suppleness and easing of
tension.
Shiatsu is a deep-tissue technique that applies palm, thumb and
elbow pressure into "trigger points," or deep knots of tension,
flushing the muscle with fresh blood and oxygen. Shiatsu is
also an energy-balancing technique that allows Chi (Life Force
Energy) to flow more freely, releasing emotions and energies
that may get trapped or held throughout the body.
By combining these techniques, the entire muscle “lets go” and
relaxes, from the superficial layers to the deepest tissues.
The result is better posture and flexibility, a greater sense of
being grounded and centered in your own body, and a general
feeling of well-being and connectedness.
